• 2006-12-05 At the Council meeting many delegations favor EU solution over EPLA, FR, LU, PT, ES, IT have sent letters to support a central court within the EU instead; DE, SE, NL, AT, UK favor EPLA
• 2006-11: EPLA lobby reacts quickly, produces rules of procedure as requested by EP
• 2006-10: European Parliament calls for significant improvements to the EPLA text, European Commission indicates wish to pursue EU patent “through a community instrument”
• 2006-09: struggle in the European Parliament: Lehne & Bowles seem to have majority support for their pro-EPLA resolution, but this gradually crumbles, also thanks to the activism of FFII and Florian Mueller
• 2006-07-14 Pompidou: Commission could mandate Diplomatic Conference for EPLA during German Presidency of 2007: “The formation of an EPLA could come as soon as the German Presidency of the EU, said Professor Pompidou. The EPO’s proposals are currently with the European Commission, which could mandate a diplomatic conference to ratify them rather than going through the European Parliament.”
